This Is Hilarious!

I posted this on Facebook:

wahai lelaki, kau orang ni betul-betul tak ada sense of self-control ke? kalau korang tak tergolong macam laki dalam blog post ini, sila justify yourself. yes, I agree perempuan ramai yang seksi, tapi asyik-asyik nak blame perempuan kalau diri sendiri punya ibadah tak sempurna. that wouldn't be fair. no wonder people see Islam as a women-oppressive religion. Lagipun, kalau semua wanita Muslim bertutup pun, you still cannot force non-Muslim girls to cover up, and macamlah you all takleh cari perempuan seksi kat internet. I believe setiap orang ada different levels of libido kan? sibuk je kaum laki ni pasal hal-hal perempuan.

Fyzul Hajizie just take it easy will ya??

Ishaq Hakim Kam, ni contoh orang minda cetek. Seriously.

Filzah Razak I knowww rightttttttttttt, Kam?!

sepatutnya ada parallel effort, http://asyrafdinie.blogspot.com/2010/01/wahai-lelaki-beriman-tundukkanlah.html
And menjawab soalan pertama tu, lelaki mmg susah utk mengawal diri,
tu sbb Allah larang lelaki & perempuan berdua2an dll.

fyzul: relax, dude, it is not aimed at you, I'm glad you and Ishaq stepped up.

Filzah: tu la pasal kan.

to all: I am very much aware of how strong nafsu lelaki is, and I am not denying the Quran rulings to jaga perbatasan pergaulan and all that.

but what I'm saying is, I disagree with the fact that some men are using the means of controlling female behavior with extreme interpretations of the Quran.

"oh, don't do this. your beauty will cause sexual arousing to men and they will be unable to concentrate on their ibadah."

"incited sexual arousal in men is the fault of the women."

"therefore, the women must cover up, etc. etc."

It came to a point where the preservation of modesty of women came to an extreme. Some justify the wearing of the niqaab is a must or that women aren't allowed to wear colorful clothes because it will draw attention to themselves. How absurd is that??

I don't believe that by instant uncovering of the face will cause instant orgies on the streets now do you? I have yet to see a community where men there and then throw themselves onto scantily-clad women in broad daylight. And I DON'T BELIEVE that ALL men are as PERVERTED and as uncapable of self-control as that man in the blog post.

I don't believe that men are equivalent to animals as they have brains and they are capable of rational thought, and therefore, self-control.

Now, how's that coming from a Feminist like me?

I am doing you, men, a favor by justifying that not all of you are sexual predators.

People say that women are the "weaker" sex, but if women are truly weak, how is it that men are not capable of self-control. So, who is the weaker sex in that sense?

Think!

Kamilah Kamil I'm doing both, women, and men, a favor here. A change from the regular Feminist stand I always take.

and I'm just sick and tired of conforming to a narrow interpretation of Islam.

Imran Rasid hahaha..sorry to say this..i did follow his blog..klakar kowt post dyer..he3..err..ok..i lke his post on freemasons and stuff...agak cool :)

Kamilah Kamil Imran: ala, aku pun follow jugak. I bukan condemn author blog ni, cuma apa yang dikatakan sahaja. And yes, I kind of agree pasal post dia pasal Freemason semua tu. Yang Leokid tulis pasal Freemason and video Umat Akhir Zaman tu pun I like.

Azri Azmi I see your point. But maybe you could a little more less abrasive when discussing Islamic values. :)

Imran:

again, I have nothing against the writer, but if you noticed in our community today, most people would preach women to cover up for fear that they will arouse the sexual desires in men and they use examples such as this to justify their point. Yes, it is correct that women have to guard themselves against the sexual wiles of men, but from my perspective, when I read that post, he was pleading for women to cover up properly. Here, there is a problem. If women were to cover up MERELY to prevent sexual arousal in men, to what extent must they cover up? I believe every individual has different levels of libido. Maybe some get turned on looking at women in bikinis, maybe some get turned on seeing women in a kurung, maybe some only get turned on when the woman is fully naked. Some people reiterates the statement by saying that even women in long hijabs get raped. So, it is clear that it is IMPOSSIBLE to have a single dress code for women. The guidelines set in the Quran were, as long as they cover their chest, etc. etc. (we all know that), so it is fine. And even if all Muslim women have covered up, there will still be the non-Muslim women. What right do you have to tell them to cover up?

"oh, do cover up, or you'll mess up my ibadah."

Does it not seem offensive to you?

That's all I'm trying to say. My problem is not merely with the article. My problem is with the preaching methods that some people use to implement Islamic rulings.

Azri Azmi Men & women should cover up because Allah SWT says so, and the "how" has been told by Him by the means of the Quran and Hadith. So, technically, men or women are supposed to cover up because it is an order by Allah, not just because to avoid sexual desires etc.

Kamilah Kamil tau pun.
